The Town of Burnsville operates a 4,200 square feet event plaza that is separated into four distinct sections: Meeting Room A, Meeting Room B, The Legacy Room Auditorium and Area C. The Burnsville Town Center also provides a number of admenities including kitchen, clean bathrooms, foyer and state-of-the-art sound system. In the foyer, the beautiful commissioned quilt by Barbara Webster hangs. This quilt is 24 feet long by 80 inches tall and features pictures of Yancey county, its citizens and natural surroundings.

Used primarily as meeting areas for groups of 20+, these spaces are 592 square feet each (enough to fit 20-35 people) and can be combined to equal 1,184 square feet. Easily accessible to the kitchen and bathrooms, this space is perfect as a staging area for an event using the auditorium, or as a convienent place for monthly meetings, business parties or other social gatherings.

With a tradtion of craft-making so much a part of Yancey county's heritage, Area "C" was made available to patrons as a "craft"-oriented space suitable for classes or workshops. With sealed concrete floors, spill-proof walls and industrial incadascent lighting, this 1,300 sqaure foot area is a perfect space to hold an event that may be a bit "messy."
